SOPA,PIPA and India

Wikipedia was just displaying "Imagine a world with out free knowledge" and a paragraph till Wednesday.Wikipedia was protesting against anti-piracy laws that will be debated next week in the US congress.
SOPA(Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA(Protect Intellectual Property Act) mainly targeting torrent sites like Pirate Bay, from where people illegally download movies and music. The problem is the laws are so loosely
framed, even innocent websites like Wikipedia could be hauled to court.Jimmy Wales, Founder, Wikipedia said, "We would not be able to even link to something like the Pirate Bay even in our encyclopedic description of what piratebay is. I think that's a real problem."
Internet giants like Microsoft, Yahoo and Google, are also protesting. They feel the US government's attempt to police the web will end up affecting common folk like you and me.
Chakshu Roy, PRS Legislative said, "Because America is the birthplace of the internet, any internet laws that are framed there will in one form or the other be replicated in other countries, including India. Secondly, most big internet firms have their servers based in the US. So if the law pulls down any one site in the US - the site blacks out all over the world."
India is trying to implement cyber censorship on sites like facebook and google which will be a disrespect against people's right to speak. The court said that if it is possible in china then its possible in india. Is india another china? Then what is democracy?
